NOTE: Fixed-power binoculars offer almost a 50% wider view than zoom binoculars set to the same magnification, therefore we do not recommend zoom binoculars for those primarily interested viewing the night sky (the narrow field of view is an inherent limitation in all zoom optics).

The same big 60mm objectives and BAK4 prisms as our fixed-power 60mm models, including the same highest-quality green/purple multi-coatings (see pic at right). All Oberwerk binoculars have rugged rubber-armored metal bodies, all-glass lenses, right ocular diopter adjustment, brass 1/4-20 tripod adapter threading, case, and strap.

60mm objectives gather 30% more light than 50mm models (surface area = pi*r2), so these are ideal for low-light viewing. Smoothly zoom from 10x to 30x at the flick of a lever. These are excellent for sporting events, birding, nautical applications, and surveillance.

I found this product to be poorly constructed and unnecessarily bulky. The zoom lever was not smooth and broke within a week of use. Also the focus knob was very stiff and hard to turn. Was not happy with this product at all and wouldn't recommend it to my worse enemy.

  • Marcus Silva

Picked up a pair of the Oberwerk 12-36x70 binoculars to check out the local wildlife. I love the huge lenses they really let in the light and produce such crisp, clear images even when zoomed right in at 36 times. The zoom lever is well placed and is easy to operate without losing your subject. These are great binoculars and well worth every penny I'm glad I bought them.
