Steiner Merlin Binoculars
Steiner Merlin binoculars were created specifically for birdwatching. They're recommended for distance viewing, and offer a 300-foot field of view at 1,000 yards, but with a close focus distance of 7.9 feet, they're also good for viewing birds at feeders or in nests, while maintaining an appropriate distance to avoid startling them. In addition, the exterior is a muted brown color shown to lessen the possibility of spooking birds.
The Merlin series uses fully multi-coated optics which increase brightness, even in low-light conditions, and ensure crisp, clear images. The lightweight alloy body is covered with a heavy duty rubber armoring for protection from bumps and scrapes, as well as a firm, comfortable grip. They're water-resistant, but not waterproof, although they're still guaranteed not to fog up. The binoculars come with a thermo-molded carrying case, neoprene neckstrap, and attached lens covers. Steiner Merlin binoculars are covered by a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty.
