Swarovski Pocket 8x20 B TYROL Binoculars
The Pocket Tyrol has 8x magnification and an objective diameter of 20mm. The eyecups can be removed for cleaning and are individually adjustable and made out of non-allergenic material. The Pocket 8x20 is one of the smallest waterproof compact binoculars as it can be folded up to a width of only 2.2 inches. The Pocket 8x20 product demonstrates true greatness both in its observation characteristics and also in their weight of only 7.6 oz.
The Swarovski Pocket Tyrol is the first compact binocular with natural untreated leather applications. In the course of time each Pocket Tyrol will become a unique copy in color and structure. The appearance is natural, elegant and noble and is therefore a stylish alternative to the existing Swarovski range of Pocket binoculars with rubber armoring and the glamorous Crystal Pocket collection.

It seems to me that Swarovski binoculars are made more for looks than anything else. I mean, yeah, they're great binoculars that work well and provide superb images. But do they really need to have leather or crystal embellishments? Are we paying for the optical quality or for the style? I bought them because someone whose opinion I value said they were the best, and they do work really well. But I think I could have gotten great quality with fewer fancy additions and a lower price.
I bought a pair of these a few years ago. They still work great, but I don't like how the leather has aged. It's supposed to get some sort of weathered patina. To me, they just look old. Maybe it's because I've used them outdoors in the heat and humidity, but for what these cost, I should be able to do that without it messing up how they look. They should have at least treated the leather to keep it looking nice.
