I did notice a bit of ghosting and some flares when using these but nothing major. Not bad, not great but a good price.
I would highly recommend these to any one interested in astronomy. At first I was a bit skeptical about the quality of them as they so cheap but WOW! these babies really pack a punch. I was very impressed with the construction of these and the optics produce really clean images perfect for deep space. As you would expect these are heavy binoculars so you will need a tripod for them. The aluminum case they came with is a nice addition and keeps them safe when I take them up to the cottage each weekend. Well worth checking out.
I have these set up to view over the lake I live on. You can clearly make out the names of boats and see people on the other shore in detail. Wonderful stuff.
Crisp and clear views of the Stars and also great for terrestrial viewing too! A heavy duty tripod is a must! I use an old Quick Set Tripod, that goes all the way up to 83" and even that will barely reach zenith ( I am 6'1" tall! )You won't believe the stars with these binoculars! It feels like you are going to "fall in"! It's that wide of a view! And nice and bright with the 100mm objective lenses!I can't wait for the moon to show it's face, here in Oregon! Terrestrial viewing is just fantastic too! Crisp, clear views! You can see a tick on a Deer's butt! Not really, but man can you see good with these! I recommend them 100%! Come with a really nice case too, despite what some people are saying! And the option to use screw in filters is a stroke of genius on Zhumell's part! Ever tried to look at the full moon, or even a half moon without a filter on? Knock your eyes out and ruin your night vision for about a half hour! With these binoculars? Just screw in a moon filter for each eyepiece and enjoy the view! Looking for Nebula? Just screw in two Nebula filters and go find them! As far as I can find, no one else offers the filter option with their Binoculars! Go ahead, do what I did, research other Giant Binoculars and find out what I found out, no one else offers a 25 year "no fault" warranty either! Just ship them to Zhumell and include a note on what's wrong with them and a check for $15.00 and they will repair them and ship them back to you! Bingo, done! Every other Manufacturer, I could find, one or two years, at best! No one else even comes close to their warranty! You all need to know also, that all these binoculars are made in China, by the same company, so you are paying for the same optics, etc., from each company you buy them from, only much more money from some major, well known companys, who just put their names on the same binocular and tack on $100.00-$200.00 to the price! I got mine for $219.00, so shop around and you will find them for a better price too! That included free shipping, the case, etc.! Good viewing and clear skys to you all!
